And although the voice messages that can be sent help communication when you cannot write, this function can also be used on your home computer or laptop, in these simple steps that we explain here.
As in the mobile version, voice messages on WhatsApp Web can be recorded from the same chat window thanks to the microphone icon, located to the right of the box where the text of the messages is written.
To do this, the user only needs to click there and keep pressing the left mouse button while speaking into the microphone that is connected to the computer. The application may ask if you want to allow the use of the microphone.
Once you release the mouse button, you can start recording your message as you normally do and you will see two icons appear. The first is an X (X) that you can choose to cancel the action, and the other is an icon that is popularly known as pimp, to send the message.
The voice message is sent to the chosen contact, including groups, so that it can be heard.
While it is clear that the sending of messages works with a microphone that most of the times is used in a laptop, but its use is not so massive in desktop computers.
For this reason, if the user is going to send the message and does not have a microphone connected, WhatsApp Web alerts them that it does not have a microphone.
Similarly, something remarkable about this WhatsApp Web function is that it also has a notification of receipt of messages, identical to cell phones and that is identified by the double blue pimp, which many users also deactivate.
Thus, when the voice message is sent, the accompanying microphone icon is green until it is heard by the interlocutor, after which it turns to color. In addition, the user who has recorded the message can listen to it by simply clicking on the play icon.
