‘Rage 2’ is free on the Epic Games Store: if you claim it now you’ll keep it forever
Epic Games is once again giving away a triple A that, if we claim now, we will keep it forever: ‘Rage 2‘. The game has been developed by Avalanche Studios (creators of ‘Just Cause 3’, for example) and iD Software (suffice to say that they are the creators of ‘DOOM’) and has been on the market since May 2019. The price of the Standard version on Steam is 59,99 euros, but now can be ours totally free thanks to Epic Games.
To claim it, we simply have to access this link and add it to our account. Once done, we will receive a receipt in our mail (of zero euros, needless to say) and ‘Rage 2’ will be available for download from the Epic Games launcher, which can be downloaded from this link. It should be noted that ‘Rage 2’ is not the only game that we can get for free today, since Epic Games is giving away ‘Absolute Drift: Zen Edition‘, an indie of races and drifts.
Two free games and forever
‘Rage 2’ takes us 30 years after the events of ‘Rage’. An asteroid has hit the Earth and has devastated almost everything, causing the appearance of mutants, cities built by the survivors and factions. We will play Walker, the last Ranger standing, whose objective is to end the plans of The Authority, who will be our enemies.
As you can guess, one of the graces of ‘Rage 2’ is in the gunplay. Is a very frantic game, full of mayhem, abilities, special powers and firearms that we can use to sweep the enemies. At Extra Life analysis stressed that the gameplay is too reminiscent of ‘DOOM’, given “how beast the game is at all times and how fun it is to make anyone bite the dust.
If ‘Rage 2’ stands out for something, it’s because of how fun the gunplay is
We will play in an open world, which is not exactly small, in which we will have a main plot, some secondary missions and a series of mini-games. Graphically the game is sensational, as is the performance, sound and dubbing into Spanish. Its weaknesses may be the story, which does not finish captivating, and the secondary missions, which can become repetitive. But in any case, it is an entertaining shooter and, moreover, free.
In the case of ‘Absolute Drift: Zen Edition’, we are facing a driving game whose reviews on Steam are “very positive”. Cost 11,99 euros, but during this week we can get it for free. It is a very minimalist and fun title where we will have to master the drift or hang out listening to electronic music and Drum & Bass. It has full support for controllers and being a driving game, it would not be a bad idea to use one to play.
