Regarding the requirements, both Murph and other companies that have hired a profile of these characteristics, such as Facebook, point out that the ideal candidate should be a good communicator, decisive, have basic knowledge of team management software, experience in team leadership and human resources.
Facebook launched a job offer for this position in September 2020. Mark Zuckerberg’s were asking 15 years of experience in the aspects already mentioned and in the development of strategies and program management. Also, candidates had to have a degree in human resources. Finally, the social network incorporated two people: Anne Dean as head of remote work and Lisa Jian as head of remote learning.
Other companies that have incorporated a position of these characteristics son Okta, Quora, Zapier o Gong.

At the moment, few companies have incorporated a professional as remote chief, and most are American technology companies. In Spain, according to the information provided by LinkedIn and Infojobs to Xataka, no specific offers have been registered for this position yet, although both platforms do indicate that there are more and more vacancies to work remotely, especially for positions related to technology and computing.
From Infojobs they also point out that the fact that offers of this type have not been formalized so far does not mean that companies in our country have not created a position of these characteristics. It should be borne in mind that it is a management position for which extensive experience and leadership skills are necessary, so many companies may choose to internally promote someone who is already on staff.
From Gitlab they also explain that it is not necessary for every organization or company to have a head of remote, since they exist external consultancies specialized in this matter who can advise them on this matter, both in the United States and in Spain.
