Downloads for you, the new Netflix feature coming to its Android app
Netflix has just announced a new feature coming to its Android app. It is a new section within the official downloads of the streaming platform, but this time it is a very useful feature.
Despite how jealous Netflix is when it comes to allowing you to take screenshots or record the screen, since 2018 it allows you to download the chapters. That downloaded content is removed as you watch it.
Now, the streaming platform goes one step further and presents Downloads for you. This is a smart feature that will be very useful if you are that type of user who has a hard time finding something new to see.
What you will get with Downloads for you will be discover new content quickly and easily. Within the downloads section we have the Smart Downloads option that, with this function, Netflix will automatically download the next episode you just watched.
The new function that has presented Netflix today it goes much further. It is focused on those who believe that there is nothing new to see on the platform or have been looking for a long time to see what to see. Are you one of those?
This new feature works whether you’re online or not. Series and movie downloads will be automatic and the Netflix algorithm will decide what to download according to your tastes.
You can disable the feature, just like you can tell Netflix how many downloads you want. The 3 options to choose from are 1GB, 3GB, and 5GB. Recommendations will increase, that is, the more space you offer Netflix, the more downloads you will have in that section.
If you have an Android mobile, follow these steps to start enjoying the new Netflix feature:
- Open the Netflix app and click on your profile.
- Then click downloads (Bottom right).
- Activate Downloads for you and the setup process begins.
- Choose how much content you want that Netflix downloads in that section.
- Now click on Activate and from that moment Netflix will start downloading content that it thinks is of interest to you.
This new feature arrives today on Netflix for Android worldwide, but it will probably take you a few days to appear. Anyway, go to the Play Store and update the Netflix application.
For iPhone users, the company indicates that they will soon move this function to iOS and you will be able to allow the download of content according to the Netflix algorithm.
