Confirmed: the Realme 8 Pro will bring the 108 megapixels to the brand under an eye-catching module and a portrait mode loaded with effects
In 2019 the first 108 megapixel sensors arrived for mobile cameras and shortly after we already said that the 108 megapixels came to stay. And so much has been the case that it is a resolution that we see more and more generalized and democratized, now being one of the main characteristics that will reach the Realme 8 Pro.
This mobile, which will be the direct heir to the Realme 7 Pro, has not yet been officially presented, but after today’s event we see that the manufacturer has focused on providing its next mid-range mobile with much more photographic possibilities. A mobile that, if it follows the line of the previous ones, will have a good value for money.
The news of Realme
When we are waiting to meet the Realme GT (in a couple of days), Realme wanted to dedicate some of the prominence to the fact that The Realme 8 Pro will be the first mobile of the brand with a 108 megapixel sensor. Specifically, it is the Samsung ISOCELL HM2, whose main novelty affected the total size of the piece in relation to assembly, in addition to incorporating support for more functions.
It is the second generation of Samsung sensors of this resolution, presented in September 2020, which will go to the new Realme mid-range mobile. Interestingly, the first 108 megapixel sensor in a mobile was also in one of mid-range, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10.
With this announcement they have taken the opportunity to show the mobile, seeing that it will have a larger and more striking module than that of the Realme 7 Pro, and also to talk about some of the new functions that will be incorporated, more or less supported by the new sensor. One of them is the In-sensor Zom, which promises to improve the optical zoom of the Realme X50 Pro pulling enhanced cutouts from 108 megapixel photos.
Also noteworthy is the versatility and possibilities that have been shown in the portrait mode, getting hooked on the fashion for blur effects and touches along cyberpunk playing with lighting and colors. It will also come with an update to the long exposure mode for photographs of stars and tilt-shift effect in time-lapse (to blur by stripes), being (according to the brand) the first mobile in the world to integrate this last function.
We are therefore left with the desire to try all these novelties (our own, not so much in the market) on the mobile, since it has not yet been officially presented. For now The jump from 64 megapixels to 108 is already confirmed and that clearly none of those four sensors will have a telephoto lens, having given so much importance to the improvement in digital zoom. As always, when the mobile is presented we will tell you everything in detail.
