Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound, a new standard for improved sound quality in mobiles
Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound, a technology to enhance wireless audio to hitherto unknown limits. We tell you all the details and how you can enjoy this technology.
The company is known for the manufacture of mobile processors and now it has proposed to solve the problem that arises in the union between devices and for this it has created an unprecedented technology.
With Snapdragon Sound, you can break down the barriers that until now existed around the sound that was linked via Bluetooth. When a mobile phone is connected to a wireless headset, some information is lost along the way since the current Bluetooth bandwidth has a limit.
What is achieved with the new Qualcomm chips is to enhance and increase that Bluetooth bandwidth to allow a more fluid and true-to-life wireless sound with a ultra low latency (89 milliseconds), improved pairing, 24-bit and 96 kHz audio quality.
The story changes radically, since this technology optimizes resources to get the most out of music and offer unbeatable quality so far.
Additionally, Snapdragon Sound also features Qualcomm Aqstic DAC which consists of a digital to analog signal converter. So that? To simulate that the mobile signal that reaches the wireless headphones seems to arrive by cable.
When listening to music over cable, the level of details and information is much higher than through the basic Bluetooth connection, since no information is lost along the way, nor is there latency due to the connection between both devices.
Qualcomm Aqstic DAC is specially focused for those who prefer to listen to music directly from their smartphone. The surprising thing is that the new Snapdragon Sound chip supports audio formats up to 384kHz 32-bit PCM and DSD with ultra-low THD + N.
All the technology that makes up Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound is found in:
- Current mobiles with the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 System mobile connectivity system.
- Smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Series processors.
- SoCs de audio Bluetooth Qualcomm series QCC514x, QCC515x y QCC3056.
- Devices with Qualcomm Active Noise Canceling (ANC) technology.
- Recent Qualcomm aptX Adaptive devices.
- Qualcomm aptX superplane band voice.
- Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec and WCD938x and WSA883x smart speaker amplifiers.
- Qualcomm Audio and Voice Communication Suite.
Qualcomm has now joined Xiaomi to offer its technology on mobile phones with Snapdragon 888 and 8 series in general. In turn, it has also reached an agreement with Audio Technica for future headphones compatible with this new technology.
You can now try this new audio quality from Amazon Music HD. They have created a playlist called Snapdragon Sound. Amazon Music HD is not included with Amazon Prime, but has an extra cost of 14.99 euros with a free 90-day trial.
