The world’s first home hologram printer
An old child’s dream comes true. You can now print your own holograms at home. And they are spectacular!
The first contact with holograms For many people it was the mythical scene in which Princess Leia from Star Wars appeared, asking Obiwan for help. “You are my only hope!“We have had to wait 40 years to have this technology at home, but here it is: LitiHolo 3D Hologram Printer, the world’s first home hologram printer.
Its creator, Paul Christie, is an MIT hologram expert fascinated by this technology, but frustrated that it could only be enjoyed by scientists in experimental laboratories.
So after years of work, here it is the first affordable home hologram printer, ready to use at home. And as you can see in this video, the technology is very spectacular:
First of all, it must be clarified that these are not holograms projected in 3D like those from Star Wars or video games, but rather a hologram printed on photographic material. This hologram looks like a photograph, but when you move it the 3D effect is generated inside.
The only thing you need LitiHolo 3D Hologram Printer to generate holograms, it is a 3D image, or a video recorded by moving the camera around the object. It also works with photos taken from different angles.
They can be created with any mobile, or use applications such as Sketchfab, which have more than half a million free 3D images that can be turned into holograms.
The software included with the hi-fi printer takes care of it all. Merges the image from different angles into what is technically called an element of the hologram, or hogel. These hogel are associated with a pixel and printed with a laser is a special filmic material.
This film has been created by LitiHolo and is necessary to generate the 3D effect, so you have to buy it in the same way that you buy photographic paper for photo printers. Printing a 10 x 12 cm hologram costs about 10 euros.
It’s a completely new technology, but from what you see on the video the holograms look pretty good. Generate 3D motion at an angle of up to 45 degrees, so they can contain several seconds of video.
If you want to try it, LitiHolo 3D Hologram Printer looking for financing and KickStarter, although in just a few days he already triples what he needed.
The world’s first home hologram printer It costs around 1.000 euros, with international shipping. Includes film material for 26 holograms of different sizes.
