Be careful with this scam that they are doing on WhatsApp
In recent weeks, a hoax related to the sportswear company Adidas has circulated through the instant messaging platform WhatsApp, which seeks that users download a malicious application.
The false message is related to the 100 years of the brand and promises a series of supposed gifts for the celebration. The communication directs the person to a page that pretends to be the Adidas website.

Once there, you are invited to participate in a simple dynamic, for which there will be three attempts, and with which youUpon successful completion, a number of gifts will be available, including clothing, shoes, and gift cards.
When the person finishes the activity, They ask you to follow a series of instructions such as sharing the message between five WhatsApp groups and 20 different contacts.

The last step requires the person to download an application and once installed it must open for a minimum of 30 seconds. This app is malicious and hosts a Trojan that seeks to infect the mobile device and access the personal information on it.
“The best option is to eliminate these types of messages without interacting with them in order to break with the distribution chain. What’s more, it is important to have updated systems, have a security solution installed on the devices, and be aware of the latest threats”Said Camilo Gutiérrez, head of the Eset Latin America Research Laboratory.
