This is Re: Move, the Polestar electric tricycle that they have designed in collaboration with CAKE
When we think of Polestar, the first thing that comes to mind of the electric car manufacturer is most likely one of its models such as the promising Polestar 2. Their latest product however is somewhat different: an electric tricycle in collaboration with CAKE, manufacturer of electric motorcycles.
Designed with the idea of transporting merchandise on it, it is large enough to carry more cargo than an electric bike. However, it is also narrow enough to be able to travel safely on cycle paths. The objective? electrify “last mile” deliveries, which have reference to the urban merchandise distribution phase in the last section before reaching the consumer.
Polestar has experience in the electrification of vehicles and the proof of this is its fully electric Polestar 2 and ready to compete with Tesla. In the case of CAKE, we are dealing with a manufacturer of electric motorcycles that has been characterized by distinctive and own designs. The result of putting a company that makes four-wheelers and one that makes two-wheelers to work together? A three-wheeler.
The design of the Re: Move trike itself features very geometric and straight shapes. Particularly noteworthy is the use of strong yet lightweight aluminum that allows you to transport a load up to 600 kilograms. The rider stands in the back and rides the tricycle as if it were a scooter.
There are few technical details of this tricycle. They have not wanted to indicate what would be the autonomy of the battery (which presumably goes in the base of the tricycle) nor what would be its maximum speed for example.
Concept and with focus on larger projects
Unfortunately At the moment the Re: Move is not a real product. It is a concept and they indicate that by autumn this year they will show a functional version. Now, that does not mean that the vehicle is assured of its mass production, it is something that remains to be seen.
The great effort of Polestar however is not on this tricycle, is in Polestar 3. It is expected to be a larger and more spacious electric SUV than the Polestar 2. In addition, there are plans to make a retail version of the Precept. Precept is your luxury concept car, already we saw at the time of its presentation.
