Eye-catching mobile with cinema screen
This Oppo Find X3 Pro has a contained size, it is not small but it is not large for the screen it mounts. It measures 163.6 x 74 x 8.26mm and uses a 6.7-inch AMOLED QHD + 120Hz.

In the upper part we have the loudspeaker that is added to the lower one to complete a system of stereo Dolby Atmos sound.
As we see we are facing a top screen and during our first impressions we can highlight that we are facing a mobile that fulfills what it promises in terms of brightness. We have used the mobile outdoors and have had no readability problems.
It seems that when it detects a high light source, the mobile jumps to HBM mode, giving that brightness an extra boost. Anyway, we will measure the maximum brightness in our laboratory and we will offer you the data in our analysis.
Something that is worth noting is that we are facing a screen that mount a 10-bit panel And this, together with the camera that allows you to capture photos and HDR video, completes the chain to be able to view content created from scratch.
In this way, it is possible to take better advantage of this high dynamic range and not only content already generated, for example, from streaming platforms.
The most interesting thing about this model in terms of design is that It comes in two finishes, glossy black and matte blue, which is the unit we are testing and in my particular point of view the most striking (and clean against fingerprints).
It should also be noted that this rear part is made of a single piece of glass thanks to a system of more than 2,000 control points, Oppo has managed to make the area of the camera island under that glass as a protrusion that comes out in a delicate, molded way.
In the first instance, it seemed to me a model that arrives with a perfect design in size, it is not very big nor does it weigh too much to mount a 6.7-inch screen and the sensations are very good in terms of touch of that rear part.
I also like it a lot on an aesthetic level since, yes, it attracts attention and not in a way that you can get tired of seeing it. But, of course, this is a subjective opinion. Objectively we can say that it is a mobile that bet to differentiate itself from other mobiles with that rear end.
Best on the market for performance and battery charging
If we talk about performance, we are facing a smartphone that is not going to leave us lying around during the typical useful life of smartphones today 2-3 years.
The Snapdragon 888 It is proving to be a very capable chip and the 12 GB of RAM plus the 256 GB of internal UFS memory promise not to slow us down in our day-to-day multitasking.
During this initial test we have had time to run a benchmark and we have managed to pass 724,000 points in Antutu, for example. In any case, we do not want to jump to conclusions and we leave that point to touch it thoroughly in our analysis.
What we can comment on is that the system works very smoothly. Color OS 11.2 continues to look more like stock Android every day with the traditional add-ons of the brand that are usually improvements for the day to day and that the user can choose whether to use them or not.
120 Hz display makes content scrolling very smoothly in social media feeds or Google searches for example. Once you try more than 60 Hz those microshocks between images when the content is moved they become very smooth.
We have launched demanding games and unsurprisingly the Snapdragon 888 has made them run very smoothly.
Here we want to mention that by default the mobile does not work to its maximum potential and that for this we will have to activate the High performance mode from battery settings. Still, the differences are noticeable in benchmark results not in day-to-day use.
We are pending to continue passing our battery of tests for this Oppo Find X3 Pro and we will show you in detail what this mobile is capable of with Snapdragon 888 and 12 GB of RAM although, as we advance you, it will be almost impossible for something to choke it.
If we talk about drums, we are before a mobile that has opted for an amount of 4,500 mAh. This figure may seem somewhat fair if we see the top mobiles that are already starting to mount 5,000 mAh but here Oppo has a great advantage: its fast charging system SuperVOOC 2.0 65W plus AirVOOC 30W wireless charging support and reverse wireless charging.
During our initial tests we have only been able to perform one battery charge and we like to run multiple cycles to make it a more realistic result. But in the first charge that we have made to the terminal, it has gone from 2% to 50% in just 11 minutes and has completed charging in just 29 minutes. With this it is all said.
Promising camera experience with a very curious microscope mode
Camera testing usually takes a long time because we have to test them in different situations and find their limits. In fact here alone we want to show you some brushstrokes of what we have seen during a day of use.
Este Oppo Find X3 Pro mounts a new 50MP IMX766 sensor. It’s lower resolution than last year’s model, but it’s a larger sensor, so it receives more light. This sensor is the bet not only for the main sensor but also for the wide angle.
That is why Oppo says that there will be no color difference between images taken between the two optics. Furthermore, according to our initial tests it is true that This wide angle achieves images with a wide angle of view by limiting and minimizing the typical barrel distortion of these optics.
We want to continue testing the cameras to see to what extent we can achieve these cameras since it allows us to capture photos in 10-bit color mode (HEIF format) and we can see more natural color gradients and more details in shadow and highlight areas.
In this first contact we have seen how photos with the main camera and wide angle are generated using pixel binning at 12 Mpx resolution for 16: 9 format, the default setting. Although we can activate the 50 Mpx mode.
The rear camera is completed with a 3X telephoto sensor with 5X hybrid zoom 13 Mpx. It is not a configuration that allows that telescope zoom of up to 10X hybrid but good results are achieved.
The big news comes with this 3Mpx f / 3 sensor with 60X magnification. Yes yes, it is not a typo. It is a microscope type sensor with a focus practically touching the surface to be photographed. And yes, if you do not touch the surface with the mobile it does not appear in focus. Here is a photo of the fabric of a shirt:
The Focus distance is approximately 1 to 2 millimeters from the microscope lens and here you can see the strip that focuses clearly, approximately half a millimeter. Yes, those are fingerprints.
We do not know, yes, to what extent it will be useful in the day to day or if it will remain like those marketing features that are not used later. A botepronto is a feature that I want to continue using and yes, too video can be recorded with that camera.
The front camera has a maximum resolution of 32 Mpx f / 2.4 and it does not have autofocus, but it focuses from a foot of the mobile to infinity.
We have to keep testing the camera thoroughly, but, at first, it seems that Oppo has just hit the table in terms of image quality with its main sensor and the wide angle in photography.
In terms of video, we are also going to thoroughly test the stabilization and quality of those 4K 60 fps videos and the possibility of making videos with a blurred background with the front and rear cameras.
We are surely facing the best mobile of the moment
First of all we want to clarify again that these are our first impressions of the terminal, we have spent less than 24 hours with it and we have many functionalities to test. We will tell you some news throughout the week and surely next week we will have the complete analysis.
At the design level, it seems to me a very beautiful, striking, elegant mobile that is different from what we have been seeing in the market.
In terms of performance, with what little I have been able to test, the sensations are very good both in normal use and in demanding use: gaming and intensive multitasking. We will have to see if this Snapdragon 888 suffers from thermal throttling doing sessions of continuous intense use, but removing that is a top mobile in this section, even surpassing the Xiaomi Mi 11 in performance.
The section of the camera is the one that arouses me the most and is that I want to fully squeeze this new 50 Mpx Sony IMX 766 sensor, see how far we have to take advantage of that larger size in terms of dynamic range and the onset of noise in low light situations.
I have to mention that the microscope camera mode is like the next step in macro photography, much closer and it is curious to see that when we activate that mode the ring that surrounds that sensor lights up to illuminate what you want to photograph.
We will see if at this time of the review it is a feature that I want to continue using or is relegated to a gimmick more like say our colleagues from Business Insider.
