These are the cameras with which OnePlus 9 wants to revolutionize mobile photography
Although there are still a few days left for the presentation of the OnePlus 9 series, the Asian brand has already confirmed much of the details of its photographic equipment. We will tell you about the cameras with which the manufacturer wants to revolutionize mobile photography.
On March 8, OnePlus made official the presentation date of the OnePlus 9 series, its new family of mobile devices that emphasizes photographic equipment and that will be released on March 23rd.
The brand made its commitment to photography clear when announcing partnership with Hasselblad, the popular Swedish manufacturer famous for providing NASA astronauts with the camera with which the photos of the arrival of man on the Moon were taken.
In recent days, OnePlus has not stopped warming up for the event through information pills that have been revealing the details of the OnePlus 9 series cameras. Now, the corporation has provided us with even more detailed information related to the equipment. photo of the new terminals.
OnePlus has already shown us what the rear camera setup looks like in a teaser video, and had also confirmed that The OnePlus 9 family will debut a custom Sony IMX789 sensor. This sensor will feature 12-bit RAW, be 64 times more colorful than its predecessors, and provide a solid foundation for later editing.
This sensor maintains the same technologies of the IMX689 sensor of the OnePlus 8 Pro, such as dual native ISO, omni-directional focus and HDR video in real time, but also introduces a series of improvements that allow it to level up. Compared to its predecessor, the IMX789 offers higher data throughput for capturing 4K video at 120 fps, and it can also capture short and long exposure images almost simultaneously and merge them into one high-quality frame.
What’s more, Hasselblad camera will offer enhanced HDR video recording, as well as support for capturing 4K video at 120 fps and 8K video at 30 fps.
Another advance that OnePlus has offered us is related to the ultra-wide-angle camera of the OnePlus 9 series. It equips Sony’s IMX766 sensor to which the brand has added a freeform lens. This combination is able to reduce the typical distortion of ultra-wide angle lenses, from 10-20%, to only about 1% distortion.
The results are truly impressive, as Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, showed us a few days ago through the tweet that you can see below.
Ultra-wide photography literally broadens your horizons. Shouldn’t it also keep them true? On the left, a shot taken with a conventional ultra-wide. On the right, the same (and yet totally different) photo taken with the #OnePlus9Series, free of distortion. pic.twitter.com/jbtWae2faP

The manufacturer continues to work to revolutionize mobile photography. He has already told us that, in the near future, his mobiles will equip a super panoramic camera with a 140 degree field of view with hardly any distortion. We will also benefit from the advantages of T-lens o Bionic Lens, lenses inspired by the human eye capable of offering almost instantaneous autofocus.
