Best mobiles for less than 400 euros (2021): the opinion of the Xataka experts
We put the high-end aside and focus on those mid-range phones with a high quality-price ratio for those demanding users who do not renounce the features of those. flagship but in more contained budgets. After reviewing the best phones for less than 200 euros and those most recommended mobiles for 300 euros, We asked the editors of Engadget who know the most about phones the most attractive phones for less than 400 euros. What phones are the best?
To this day, it is one of the telephones with best quality / price ratio on the market. The 8GB / 128GB model has an official price of 399 euros, but in many places it can be found even cheaper.
And for that outlay, it offers us a 90 Hz AMOLED screen, powerful performance, good autonomy, fast charging and versatile photographic equipment. All of it, with the addition of 5G, which is already available in several operators and in many cities ..
For an official price of 369 euros (and less if we look at other distributors), this model includes a 6.47-inch AMOLED screen, a 5,260 mAh battery with 33W fast charge and a quad camera with a 64 MP main sensor. To which is added the Snapdragon 730G to the controls and a design that boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Come on, a good balance of price and performance.

Recommending a good mobile below 400 euros is increasingly difficult: manufacturers have put the batteries in this price segment.
Among all the phones of this 2020, I am left with one of the most recent: the OnePlus Nord (399 euros). With this return to the origins the brand has achieved a high quality smartphone with a good design, excellent finish and more than suitable hardware for any task.
The OnePlus Nord seems so recommended that I even bought it myself to use as a personal mobile.
Large 6.67-inch screen, a more than solvent processor (Snapdragon 732G), almost nuclear battery (5,160 mAh), quad rear camera with good photographic performance and without losing the NFC along the way, hence the name of the phone.
My third recommendation is the perfect phone for those looking for a content mobile with the best camera: Google Pixel 4a (389 euros). Immediate Android updates, 5.8 inches of screen, Snapdragon 730G and a very well optimized 3,140 mAh battery.
Xiaomi Poco X3 Smartphone 6GB 128GB, Snapdragon 732G, 64MP Camera, 6.67 “Dot Display, NFC, 5160mAh battery, Global Version (Gray, 6GB + 128GB)
Personally I put photography first and fluidity and simplicity in the software, and although the Google Pixel 4a (389 euros) does not integrate four rear cameras and its autonomy cannot compete with that of mobiles with 4,500 and 5,000 mAh batteries for me it is one of the main candidates to consider for this price range.
Software updates up to three years guaranteed, without additions (for better and for worse) and with the photographic quality that Google provides, from which other manufacturers are still far from even in higher-end mobile phones.
Speaking of a software that I always like is the OnePlus, and this year they surprised us with it OnePlus North, what leave behind the high-end range and its prices to stay below 400 euros.
A mobile that also does It has 5G, 30W fast charging and that part of the 8 GB of RAM, which is not bad at all. And all is said: both the previous one and this one are relatively compact speaking of the average size on Android and it is something that we appreciate a certain sector of the public

If someone asked me right now which mobile phone would I buy for less than 400 euros, I would go head to head for the OnePlus Nord 8/128 GB (399 euros).
For 399 euros you can take a capable device, with a more than correct performance for any day-to-day function, a 90 Hz screen typical of the high-end and software to match. A safe bet, go.
It stays at the same height as the OnePlus Nord, but I put it one notch below because I like the OnePlus software and camera better. It’s a matter of priorities, but the Realme X50 5G is a good buy too.
More interesting options would be the Motorola Moto G 5G (298 euros), which has a 90 Hz screen, the Snapdragon 765 and an official price of 399 euros; and the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G (249 euros), a terminal that seems to me to be the most complete.

For less than 400 euros we already have mobile phones with arguments to compete even with the best high-end. Although sometimes it is difficult to find them with a good offer. It is the case of Poco F2 Pro or of Xiaomi Mi 10T, available for 399 euros.
The Xiaomi Mi 10T is among the most complete models of the Chinese manufacturer, with a powerful Snapdragon 865, one of the most advanced Qualcomm chipsets on the market.
We have a 5G mobile with a 120H IPS panel, and has a generous battery 5,000 mAh with 33W fast charge.
It is not short either in photography, where the 64MP sensor performs very well. Perhaps it is a notch lower than others in camera or design, but for its price it is one of the most recommended phones.
OnePlus has with its Nord (399 euros) one of the most complete and interesting mid-range on the market. A careful design, 5G connectivity, AMOLED screen and a four-camera system that offers great results. The performance of OnePlus, successfully transferred to the mid-range.
Another option is the Realme X3 SuperZoom (388 euros) It is a new manufacturer, but Realme with the X3 SuperZoom is a striking alternative too, with 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, Snapdragon 855+ processor and 120 Hz display. To which we have to add a curious quad camera with 5x zoom.
We finally have the Google Pixel 4a (389 euros). A different mobile. It is not the most powerful, but it is very light and has possibly one of the best cameras today. Regardless of the price. A little gem that is not for all users, but the experience it offers is worthy of the high-end in areas such as photography.

Below 400 euros I have two clear candidates. The first is the OnePlus Nord (399 euros), which I consider to be the most complete mid-range on the market.
Nice design, camera, battery, performance, 90Hz refresh rate … I actually think it’s the most balanced mobile right now in value for money.
If I had to choose a second option it would be the Pixel 4a (389 euros). Although it may seem a small thing at the level of specifications, it is an incredible mobile with one of the best cameras on the market and three years of guaranteed updates.
