How to recover some of the functions that have disappeared from Instagram due to European regulation
Facebook has been forced to comply with the European Union regulations for messaging services and since the end of 2020 some functions of its main applications have disappeared.
At the end of last year, users discovered a new warning in the Messenger and Instagram applications. “Some features are no longer available“, although they did not give any indication as to which functions would disappear.
In the message, Facebook assured that it was working to be able to recover those functions for the citizens of the European Union, the only ones who no longer had these functions available. Another disabled feature is the option to send disappearing or self-destructing photos and videos on Instagram Direct, although there might be an option to get them back.
The Web WABetaInfo advises to use the application Threads From Instagram its secondary application that is limited to serving as an instant messaging service rather than as a social network. This application has not yet been updated with the new changes imposed by the regulations in Europe, so it is possible to send photos and videos that disappear with it.
The downside is that the app may not be available in all countries. We must look for it by Threads From Instagram in the Android and iOS application stores, but do not confuse it with others that are called similarly. If not available it can be used through APKMirror, a safe place to find Verified APK.
It is important to be careful with these applications, the APK files allow access to the latest official application updates before they are available to the public or they are applications that are no longer available in the stores and are still safe, but not verified they can pose a risk.
Messenger and Instagram are the two messaging applications affected by compliance with the 2002 regulations, it seems that WhatsApp has not been affected in this regard. Facebook has promised to bring those features back later, in the meantime this is a shortcut that can be used with caution.
