Summer is the time of year when we all go on vacation. Even the least wealthy save a few days to go to the nearest beach… while the luckiest do the same but in Thailand.

For this reason, the OCU is very aware these days of giving the best advice, trying to avoid possible vacations with a tragic end. Taking care is possible, although a bit expensive. Even so, they assure us that it is worth it.

Within the advice of the OCU, the most important when traveling have to do with travel assistance insuranceboth for those traveling within the European Union and those leaving the euro zone.

According to the OCUeven if you travel to a country within the scope of the European Health Card, it is advisable to additionally carry travel assistance insurance that covers the transfer, but outside the European Union, if you want to travel with guarantees here if they urge you to take out insurance.

“If you travel to a country that is not covered by the European Health Card, it is essential that you have insurance with a good limit on medical care expenses abroad,” above 300,000 euros, they state on the web.

And although, in principle, it is not mandatory to take out travel assistance insurance, even before the pandemic there were some countries that required insurance to grant a visa. And now, after the pandemic, the number of countries that have begun to request it has increased.
