Netflix confirms new plans with non-streaming ads
Netflix has finally confirmed that it will add ads to streaming. The news was announced by Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of the company, during his participation in the Cannes Festival, this fifth-feira (23).
A move is a Responds to the negative numbers registered by the company in the last quarter — The platform lost more than 200 thousand assassins in three months. The executive said that Netflix is already in “negotiation with potential partners” for the sale of ads.
Sarandos, no entanto, explains that the move will not be applied to all the assassins. “We’re not adding ads to Netflix like you know now. We’re adding a bunch of ads for people who say, ‘Hey, I want a lower price and I’ll watch ads,'” he says.
Possibility of selling Netflix
Still, it is not known if this will be released by the top of the streaming giant, which sees its actions falling considerably in recent months.
The executive affirms that the acquisition of the company is always a possibility and that it is necessary to be “open eyes” for this, but insists that there is still a lot of market to explore like Netflix. “We have enough scale, profitability and cash flow to continue to expand our business,” he observed.
There is still no forecast of when plans with ads will be streaming for all markets.
