For the third date of group B of the America Cup female soccer, the Argentine national team built another win, the second consecutive in the tournament. To the 4-0 over Peru last Tuesday, this Friday he added a win by 5-0 over Uruguay, with a hat-trick from Yamila Rodríguez and goals from Estefanía Banini, who equaled a historical record, and from Eliana Stábile, to close the festival at the Centenario Stadium in Armenia, in Colombia.

To start the count we had to wait until 42 minutes into the first half. A center from the right by Marina Delgado reached Banini almost at the penalty spot, after overcoming those who jumped. Quick of reflexes, the Argentine number 22 controlled the ball and in a half turn she defined next to a stick.

With that goal, Banini equaled Marisol Medina as Argentina’s top scorers in this tournament, with seven celebrations. Estefanía has more games ahead of her to be alone with the record in what could be her last competition with the national jersey.

At the beginning of the second stage, at 5 minutes, the selected team stretched the difference with a well-resolved heads-up by Rodriguez, after throwing a wall with Banini when facing a disarmed Uruguayan defense after another positive intervention in the play of Delgado.

Rodríguez celebrated again in the 18th minute to make it 3-0. The albiceleste team did not forgive a bad start by goalkeeper Olivera and Mariana Larroquette, with a header, enabled the scorer, who faced the goal and, shortly after entering the area, resolved from the right.

Yamila’s hat-trick came at 23, to rehearse a Cristiano Ronaldo-style celebration, pointing to her chest. A long pass from the Argentine field reached number 11, after the error of a Uruguayan defender, and Rodríguez repeated the definition. It was 4-0.

And there was more. In the fourth minute of injury time, a great move down the left by Dalila Ippólito, who had replaced a beaten Rodríguez, finished in the fifth goal. Stábile came through the middle, the skillful number 10 assisted her and Eliana resolved with her left foot, touching her next to a stick before the goalkeeper came out.

With this victory, Argentina confirmed the recovery after a start in the tournament with a 4-0 loss to Brazil and now has six points, the same as the Brazilians, undefeated in two games. The next match of the national team will be next Thursday against Venezuela to define the classification. The first two of each group will advance to the semifinals.
