Eat, sleep and walk in Sierra de la Ventana
Mountain trekking, deer watching and outings on horseback, or by bike, are the proposals of this region, which includes several towns. The tour can be extended north to follow the route of the German and French settlers, and admire the work of the architect Salamone.
Only 600 km from the city of Buenos Aires, the Sierra de la Ventana Tourist District seduces with an unusual landscape in this province. Made up of a series of localities located very close to each other –Saldungaray, Sierra of the Windowa, Villa Window, Villa Serrana The Grotto, San Andres de la Sierra Y Tornquist– they all complement each other. To stay, you should choose Sierra de la Ventana, which has a variety of hotels. At Villa Ventana, the accent is on the gourmet question, with good restaurants and tea houses. In Saint Andrewa younger town, there are nice cabins, but the services are further away.
Outings in 4×4, by bike and horseback riding are some of the activities for travelers seeking action. Those who have extra training will be encouraged to climb the three peaks hill (1,239 m, the highest in the province) and cwindow error (1,136m). Both demand a high and sustained effort, and involve a full day of walking.
Those who have more time can add to the route the route that links Pigue, Colonel Suarez, Carhue, Villa Epecuen Y Guamini. This proposal takes about four more days, follows the route of French and German immigration, the work of Salamone, and concludes with the disturbing landscape of the town of Epecuén.
