Neuquén: a woman had her seventh son and wants Alberto Fernández to be her godfather
A woman from the province of Neuquén gave birth to her seventh son and, as indicated by Law No. 20,843, President Alberto Fernández could become the baby’s godfather. Under the name Emir, the little boy was born in the Castro Rendón Provincial Hospital Maternity.
Roxana León is 41 years old and already had six boys, all born in the same hospital: Sergio (24), Kevin, 22, Alex, 14, Yandel, 11, Yamil, 7, and Leonel, 3 years.
Waiting for the seventh child, and while she was in the sixth month of pregnancy, the doctor responsible for carrying out the ultrasound revealed that another boy was coming. Thus, He mentioned to him about the possibility of requesting presidential sponsorshipan option that the woman was unaware of.

Sanctioned and enacted in 1974, the regulations “Guarantees the patronage of the acting President of the Nation at the time of the birth of the seventh male child or the seventh female daughter of an offspring of the same sex”.
According to the law, “whoever has been sponsored by the head of the Executive Power, will have the right to receive from the national State ensure the free completion of studies at the primary, secondary, university or special level that he/she attends in official educational establishments”.
For this, the national government invests “an annual sum necessary for the granting of the instituted study scholarships”. Within this sum is also taken into account “the provision of books and supplies and everything that is inherent to the accommodation, food and recreation of the fellow”.
“The expense required by compliance with this law will be taken from General Revenue, with imputation to it, until its inclusion in the general budget of the Nation”, the rule ends.
The official page of Government of the Nation indicates that it will be necessary to previously complete a registration form, submit the proof of regular student and complementary documentation that accredits the educational level of the person receiving the assistance.
“All documentation must have the signature and stamp of the competent academic authority, without amendments or corrections”, indicates the portal of the Executive Power. Once the presidential sponsorship has been granted, it is required to renew the scholarship itself annually by presenting a new renewal form together with the proof of completion of the year studied and the rest of the papers that were originally presented.
