Board role-playing games had their golden age in the 1980s, before the advent of computers and consoles. But they have never left.

In 1982, Robert Wardhaugh was a teenager with a passion for epic fantasy. Like many other young people of the time, he became fond of Dungeons and Dragons role-playing gamesthe great precursor.

That year he started a game with his friends… which is not over yet. 40 years later the longest Dungeons and Dragons game in history continues in the basement of his house. He is no longer a shy teenager, but a respected history professor at Western University in Canada.

Robert Wardhaugh bought a house with a sized basement to set up his role-playing game, which requires stages that take up several square feet.

The death of the characters is permanent, so if a player loses all his characters he is eliminated, even if he has been playing for years. Throughout the 40 years since About 50 people have participated, and about 500 characters have died.
