And if you add to this the high temperatures that are being suffered in practically the entire northern hemisphere, it has finally caused a large group of crypto miners to have made an ecological decision this week when they have temporarily ceased their activities to try not to overload the electrical network of Texas in the United States.

And it is that last Monday the Texas Electric Reliability Council (ERCOT) has been asking to all its residents to reduce energy consumption to avoid blackouts and outages during this intense heat wave.

The agency noted that in addition to currently causing record power demand for the state, this heat has even eliminated some of the renewable energy options like wind power.

It is an unprecedented decision, different sites and cryptocurrency professionals that were consuming a high percentage of the total energy production of the state, have decided to voluntarily close a few days ago so that other residents of the state do not suffer any type of power outage.

While it is true that right now is not a good time for cryptocurrencies, it is a good detail that different companies and individuals have decided to cease their digital currency mining activities with social welfare in mind and not their own enrichment.
